1fJ/bit Coupling-based ITO Monolithic Modulator in Integrated Photonics

Here, a high-speed optical modulator with large bandwidth, robust athermal operation, and complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) compatibility is presented for photonics integrated systems and computing applications. Using the magical critical coupling loss, we have reduced the power consumption by four times compared with the conventional design.
