Research on Factors Influencing Rumor Spread

Exploring the subjective and objective factors that influence the spreading behavior of rumors can realize rumor governance. Taking into account the two types of rumors spreaders currently ubiquitous-content-driven communicators and interest-driven broadcasters, as well as the two factors affecting the content of the rumors and the interests of the spreaders, this article improves the traditional BASS model and establishes the relationship function between the subjective and objective influencing factors. Through experimental simulation, the influence of the importance and ambiguity of the rumors, the psychological benefits of the spreader and the expected attention on the number of rumors spreading is analyzed. This article analyzes the subjective and objective influencing factors of rumor spread, reveals the internal laws, and provides a theoretical basis for the proposal of rumor control strategies.
