Loss Analysis and Verification of a Discharge Regulator

With the continuous improvement of power level, power density and conversion efficiency of space power system, higher requirements are put forward for the research and selection of high power density power regulator topology. This paper takes SuperBoost as the research object, adopts a magnetic integrated design for the power inductor, and performs Fourier decomposition (FFT) on the harmonic current of the coupled inductor, and gives a method to analyze and calculate the coupled inductor current. At the same time, the loss and temperature rise of the regulator are analyzed, the loss and temperature rise curves of the coupled inductance are given, and the loss distribution diagram is given through finite element analysis. The design and theoretical calculations were verified by building a hardware test platform.
