Minimum Kernel Risk-Sensitive Mean P-Power Loss Algorithm Based Seamless Control of Grid-Tied PV-Battery System

This paper presents a three-phase four-wire grid-tied PV-battery storage system with seamless capability. The voltage source converter (VSC) is regulated by the slime mould algorithm (SMA) optimized minimum kernel risk-sensitive mean

-power loss (MKRSMPL) algorithm. The VSC control seamlessly switches from grid current control (GCC) to voltage control as the system shifts from grid-tied to isolated mode and vice versa without any major transients. The SMA optimized DC bus have reduced variations during dynamic conditions and improves system's stability as well as generates an accurate loss component of current to enhance the performance of VSC control. The system is designed to perform multiple operations, i.e., harmonics elimination, reactive power compensation, load, grid voltage and active power balancing at a common coupling point. The battery storage system handles the system's disturbances and improves its stability at DC bus. The proposed system operates satisfactory as per IEEE519 standards during steady and various dynamic conditions.
