Water: a major requisite for the protein fibrillation as revealed by THz spectroscopy measurements

We explore the change in the collective hydration of water during the protein fibrillation (native →intermediate →fibril) of a model protein bovine serum albumin using terahertz spectroscopy. We also establish that the structural makeover of the protein during the conformational transition is followed by the associated hydration.
