Electromagnetic-Thermal Co-Simulation Based on Large Scale Parallel DGTD and FETD Method

In this paper, the electromagnetic-thermal co-simulation method based on large scale parallel discontinuous Galerkin time-domain (DGTD) method and finite-element time-domain (FETD) method is proposed. The DGTD method is utilized for EM simulation, while the FETD method is adopted for thermal simulation. The temperature-dependent properties of electrical material is considered in the modeling. In order to further improve the capability of the proposed electromagnetic-thermal co-simulation method, the large-scale message passing interface (MPI) parallel technique is applied to both the DGTD and FETD solution process. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method.
