Analysis of Bubbles Size Produced in Electroflotation Using Graphite and Stainless Steel Electrode With DinoCapture 2.0

The bubble size distribution is an important factor in the electroflotation process. Smaller bubbles will increase the number of bubbles, the possibility of collisions, and easily lift the pollutant particles to the surface. The bubble size distribution is affected by the current density which is directly proportional to the applied voltage. In this study, the determination of the voltage to find the optimum diameter of H
2
and O
2
gases in the electroflotation process was carried out. The bubble size measurement was carried out using a digital microscope (DinoLite with DinoCapture 2.0 software) then the method was verified using the free ImageJ software with the correlation coefficient (R
²
) linear regression equation. The results showed that the optimum voltage was 20 V because the gas bubbles were spread over the entire surface of the anode and cathode. The study was able to verify that the two-software had similar results on the gas bubble size image analysis based on the correlation coefficient (R
²
≈ 1).
