Mechanical Analysis and Pathway Simulation of Tennis Topspin

With the aim to improve the quality of tennis topspin, motion characteristics are analyzed in this paper. In view of the function of tennis serve machine, some relevant principles of elastic mechanics and fluid mechanics are applied to analyze the characteristics of tennis topspin during flying. Mathematical modeling method is used to set up the ball flight pathway equation, and the computer simulation method is applied to simulate the flight pathway of topspin. The study has obtained the range of initial velocity, angle and spin rate by software MATLAB. In terms of the simulation result, some basis reference can be provided for the tennis serve machine.
