Oblique Aerial Photography High-resolution Environment Models for High-speed Railway Ray-Tracing Simulations

In this paper, the high-resolution three-dimensional (3D) environment model obtained by the oblique aerial photography (OAP) technique is used for ray-tracing simulations to predict radio coverage in high-speed railway scenarios. A lightweight modeling method and a customized 3D ray-tracing method are proposed to reduce the computational complexity in the simulations. A realistic high-speed railway environment model is present in this paper to evaluate the proposed methods. The results show that implementing the high-resolution environment model is capable of effectively improving the predicting accuracy.
