Dual Polarization Common Aperture Transceiver Antenna with High Radiation Performance

In this work, we propose a kind of common aperture antenna which receiving antenna and transmitting antenna share the same aperture with each other. Specifically, the external antennas as receivers are composed of two pairs of dipoles in 1.73-1.79GHz and 1.91-1.97GHz, which excites 0° and 90° polarization, respectively; while the inner antenna as transmitter is a differential fed dielectric resonant antenna in 1.83-1.88GHz and 2.11-2.16GHz, which can excite ± 45 degree polarization. In this case, the external antenna has a stable gain of 10dB, and its XPD is greater than 26dB at 0° and 14dB at 60°; The internal antenna has a stable gain of 7. 9dB, and its XPD is greater than 37dB at 0° and 30dB at 60°; Besides, both internal and external antennas have 3dB beamwidth of 74° approximately. Especially, there is high port isolation between internal and external antennas. Thus, the design, which has stable radiation and port characteristics, can be applied for base station and array integration.
