Optimization and Solution Method for Electric Vehicle Charging and Discharging Load

The application of Vehicle-to-grid(V2G) technology can help electric vehicles (EVs) better assist the grid operation, and this paper proposes an electric vehicle load optimization model and solution method. The EV load optimization model regulates the charging and discharging power of EVs at different time of the day, with the aim of minimizing peak-to-valley difference of network and network loss, while considering the charging demands of EV users, the battery charging and discharging cycle range. The paper uses second-order conic algorithm to relax the power flow balance constraint, and then convexify the "nonconvex" part of the EV model to eliminate integer variables. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed strategy is verified by cases analysis.
