Direct Thrust Force Control of PMSLM Based on LQR Optimal and Stator-Resistance Adaptive Regulator

The resultant control performance using conventional direct thrust force control (DTFC) techniques is poor with force and flux ripple. This research improves this aspect of DTFC by introducing an optimal control scheme using the linear quadratic regulator (LQR) and resistance adaptive regulator technique. Simulation results prove that the proposed optimal control scheme achieves a perfect transient response with improved steady-state regulation of force when compared to the state of the art.
