Atherosclerotic plaque characterization by spatial and temporal speckle pattern analysis

Summary form only given. Our results indicate that different atherosclerotic plaque types may be distinguished by analyzing temporal and spatial speckle pattern fluctuations. Due to the simplicity of this technique and its unique capability to provide information related to the structural and biomechanical properties of plaques, further research is warranted to investigate its potential for clinical use.
