Applied Switching Bilateral Filter for Color Images under Mixed Noise

In the image, mixed noise color images independently contaminate each component of the color image with varying strength. In this paper, we propose a detection switching bilateral filter (DSBF) to reduce the mixed noise for the color images. We compare the performance of the proposed filter with three well-known filters including SBF, BM3D, and NCSR. We improve the performance of the SBF filter for color images by enhancing the noise separation process based on primary color values. In simulation results, the DSBF maintains high performance for color images than others. On the other hand, the performance filter-based non-iterative scheme, SBF and BM3D, significantly decrease for color images since the quality of output in each component cannot maintain the filter performance.
