Investigation of the Electrodynamic Characteristics of a Three-Gap Klystron Resonator with a Strip Line on a Suspended Dielectric Substrate

This article presents the design of a small-sized three-gap rectangular resonator with a suspended dielectric substrate and a two-sided strip line located on it for a low-voltage amplifying klystron C and X wavelength range. Its main electrodynamic and electronic parameters were calculated for anti-phased (4.7 GHz) and in-phased (9.67 GHz) modes of oscillation. It is showed by simulation results that the three-gap rectangular resonator can be tuned to multiples resonant frequency, which makes it possible to operate as a frequency multiplier.
