Research on Optimization for Radar Network Based on FRFT and Doppler Frequency Estimation Method

In radar network, due to the radar cross section (RCS) fluctuation of the target, the radar node may receive the poor echo with lower signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and even the target cannot be detected. This paper proposes an algorithm fusing fractional Fourier transform (FRFT) and a Doppler frequency (DF) estimation method jointly to optimize the faulty node and enhance its working ability. In most of time, the main echo of a stable moving target will be a linear frequency modulation (LFM) signal. When the faulty node gets echo with lower SNR, with excellent detection ability of FRFT on the LFM signal, we can make spectrum superimpose by frequency adjustment to optimize the faulty node. When one node fails, for information continuity, a DF estimation method can be used to obtain more accurate DF. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has better performance in optimizing the faulty node with excellent denoising and better DF acquisition ability, so as to optimize the radar network.
