Consideration of False Information on Propagating Disaster Information

In recent years, major natural disasters including landslides and floods have occurred frequently. It is important that information on the occurrence of natural disasters be quickly shared with local residents to encourage rapid evacuation. We are researching and developing a Grassroots Information Distribution System using mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs), which enables local residents to autonomously predict the signs disasters and their occurrence, and to rapidly propagate disaster information. On the other hand, if false information is mixed up in the distribution system, it is necessary to immediately halt the spread of false information. In this paper, we simulated the spread of false information in a network. We simulate the truthfulness of the propagated information at each node in the network, and if more than 70% of the nodes cannot determine that the propagated information is false, the false information will be spread to all nodes. In addition, by mutually exchanging information on the truth or false of information with neighboring nodes, we confirmed that if about 25% of the nodes can determine that the information is a false information, the false information can be suppressed from spreading on the network.
