Unbalance response of pump shaft based on tolerances

This paper takes a certain type of centrifugal pump rotor as the research object. The relationship between tolerance levels and unbalance response will be discussed considering the current machining standards. A finite element model of the rotor was established. The concentricity and circular run-out of the second and third shaft segments, the verticality of the convex cover, the circular run-out of the iron core and the run-out of the impeller end were used as the research objectives. Several tolerance levels were chosen, and each the tolerance level is converted into an unbalance mass to calculate the unbalanced response of the shaft system. The calculation results show that the verticality error of the convex cover and the impeller runout have the greatest influence on the vibration of the shafting.
