Hydraulic Pressure Simulation of Disc Insulators Considering Bolt Preload

In order to consider the bolt preload during the assembly process of the disc insulator, a 3D model is required for simulation. Then the hydraulic pressure test is simulated based on these components with initial prestress. In both processes, the contact pressures of the sealing rings are evenly distributed and greater than 8 MPa, shown the sealing performance is ensured. Under hydraulic pressure, the maximum principal stress of disc insulator is 52.2 MPa, which is less than the tensile strength of the epoxy resin material which is 75.4 MPa.
