Improved Performance of Microwave Staring Correlated Imaging by Coherent Integration

The imaging performance of Microwave Staring Correlated Imaging (MSCI) is determined by the property of sensing matrix and the noise condition of the imaging system. In this paper, coherent integration is introduced into MSCI to improve the imaging performance by enhancing signal noise ratio (SNR) with a predetermined sensing matrix. Via coherent integration of target echo and incoherent integration of additive noise, the upper-bound of the imaging error can be reduced according to matrix perturbation theory. Numerical imaging results validate the improvement of imaging performance, indicating a new sensing matrix construction method for MSCI.
