Measurement and analysis of arrival angle at MS in High Elevation Environment

HAPS which provides communication services from an altitude of 20 km via a UAV is being considered as a new mobile communications platform for an ultra-wide coverage areas and disaster-resilient networks. In order for HAPS to provide mobile communication services to smartphones, it is important to clarify the arrival angle profile in the high elevation environment. This paper present measured results and analyses of the radio arrival angle profile of the mobile station for the incoming wave from a helicopter in flight.
