A Star Pattern Recognition Algorithm Based on Coordinate Transformation of Polar Coordinate System

Aiming at the problem of large image files, high frame rate, and high single-frame pixels of the starry sky video files captured by the camera array system, when the recognition rate of the classic star pattern recognition algorithm is slow, and the traditional image processing algorithm cannot be used, a solution including a star map recognition method based on polar coordinate transformation is proposed. The star point feature descriptor established by the algorithm has the characteristics of small space occupancy and fast matching speed. In the process of capturing image files taken by the camera array system, the algorithm can be further improved to make the matching recognition time within 30 milliseconds while ensuring the recognition rate.
