Investigation of electromagnetic field transmission characteristics of rectangular waveguides

In this paper, a model of a rectangular waveguide is designed to derive the partial transmission characteristics of electromagnetic waves in a rectangular waveguide tube from a set of Maxwell's equations. Simulation experiments are conducted using HFSS and MATLAB for three modes, TE10, TE01 and TM11, to obtain the variation of phase velocity and group velocity with operating frequency, the electromagnetic field distribution in the three modes and the effect of rectangular waveguide size parameters on the cutoff frequency.
