Coordinated Control Scheme of Thermal Power Unit Considering Wind Power Connection

Permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) based wind turbine (WT) participating in frequency regulation must consider the termination, but the termination inevitably leads to frequency secondary drop. This paper proposes a control strategy introducing the frequency regulation functions of thermal power units and PMSG, and analyzes the similarities between the two. On this basis, a coordinated frequency regulation strategy for thermal power considering wind power generation is proposed. On one hand, this strategy can effectively release the boiler heat storage to support the frequency, and improve the frequency stability of the system. On the other hand, this strategy speeds up the burning rate of boiler to optimize boiler pressure performance.
