Cooperative Planning for IoT-Based Aggregation of Electric Vehicle Fast-Charging Stations and Distributed Generations

Plug-in electric vehicle fast charging stations (PEVFCSs) aggravate the load pressure of the existing distribution network and widen the peak-valley gap of the grid. Meanwhile, distributed generations (DGs) also have the problem of excessive fluctuations in output. Considering their complementarity, this paper proposes an operating framework for the regional aggregation of PEVFCSs, DGs and base load based on Internet of Things. To specify this innovative aggregation, this paper proposes a mixed-integer second-order cone programming model to realize the collaborative planning of PEVFCSs and DGs, including the sizing and siting of PEVFCSs and DGs and the upgrade plan for distribution network. According to different participating members of the aggregation, this paper sets up multiple scenarios to provide numerical results to verify the effectiveness of the collaborative planning strategy and the advantage of the aggregation framework to offset the negative impact of PEVFCSs and DGs and improve the steadiness of the power grid.
