Analysis on the Necessity of High-Voltage Shunt Reactors in Power Grid

The high-voltage shunt reactor is generally connected between the end of the UHV transmission line and the ground. It can weaken the power frequency voltage rise caused by the capacitance effect of long lines under no-load or light-load conditions, improve the voltage distribution along the line, reduce line loss, reduce the arc current, accelerate the extinguishment of the submersible arc, and increase the line's he success rate of automatic reclosing. However, under the line conditions of different grid structures, the role of the high-voltage shunt reactor is different, and the temperature of the high-voltage shunt reactor is high during operation, and the vibration is large. If the service life is long, the problem of old equipment is prominent. In response to this situation, this paper selects a line separately to study the role of shunt reactors.
