Wind Farm Predictive Coordination Control Strategy

As the penetration of wind power increases, the operation risks of power system become serious and it is of vital importance to improve the control performance of wind power. Based on the predictive coordination control theory, a predictive coordination control framework is proposed. Three control modules, which contain wind power forecast module, online optimization module and feedback module are presented. In the wind power forecast module, the feasibility of wind turbine power forecast is analyzed and a wind turbine neural network forecast method considering the time delay of wind speed is proposed. In the online optimization module, the targets of maximizing the self-reserve and minimizing the control error considering the constraints of wind speed, wind turbine power and wind turbine model are established. In the feedback module, control errors are distributed based on the actual power shortage and regulation space of wind turbine. The simulation verifies the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.
