Capacity Value and Economic Evaluation of Electric Vehicle Parking Lots in Smart Distribution Grids

With the increasing proportion of wind power, photovoltaic and other renewable energy power generation in the grid, its randomness and intermittence bring great challenges to the safe and stable operation of power grid. The application of electric vehicle (EV) provides an effective way to cope with the challenge by virtue of V2G technology. In order to deeply analyze the potential value of the virtual energy storage system based on EV parking lots in the smart distribution network, and effectively analyze the role of EV parking lots in the distribution network reliability and operator economy, this paper studies and proposes a capacity value evaluation framework based on P2G (parking lot to grid) technology, and analyze its economic benefits, so as to quantify the potential contribution of EV parking lot to power supply adequacy.
