Spectrum Access and Performance Analysis for Cognitive Emergency Communication Networks

Serious natural disasters would destroy the local telecommunication infrastructure seriously and cause the existing conventional telecommunication network out of work. The quick and effective rescue operation would require a collaborative communication infrastructure network for the rescue teams and other emergency constructions. This paper focused on the emergency communication networks and developed a cognitive emergency communication networks, and the strategy of spectrum access of the cognitive emergency communication networks is analyzed, and the novel spectrum state transition model of the networks is established by means of Markov chain. Based on the spectrum state transition model, the state transition probability is derived, and the throughput and delay of the networks are obtained. Simulation results verify that the spectrum state transition model and the throughput and delay are effective. It provides an available network for the design of further cognitive emergency communication networks.
