Determining Vital Signs with CW Doppler Radar Based on Particle Swarm optimization

In this study, the particle-swarm optimization has been utilized to determine the human vital signs acquired by continuous-wave Doppler radar. The optimization is carried out in time domain for estimating the respiration and heartbeat rates. Taking advantage of the vital-sign prediction model as target, several important vital-sign parameters can also be simultaneously extracted through the optimization procedure. To validate the adopted approach, the estimated heartbeat rates are compared with the ones recorded by pulse sensor. Good agreement is achieved.
