60 GHz Imaging/Detection System Experimental Evaluation on Concealed Weapons

An experimental analysis for 60 GHz imaging/detection for concealed weapons is presented in this paper. The imaging technique based on time domain reflectometry (TDR) is conducted that utilizes low profile multi sin-corrugation antipodal tapered slot antenna (MC-AFTSA-SC). The analysis is carried out with a step resolution of δx=δy=3 mm with 100 ×100 pixels size of the detected images. This paper presents an experimental analysis to show the ability of 60 GHz sensor in the detection of the concealed weapon such as a plastic gun and a metal gun comprising of aluminium material.
