High Gain and Ultra-broadband RCS Reduction Fabry-Perot Antenna with Checkerboard Superstrate

Owing to the F-P cavity and its novel checkerboard superstrate, the natural combination of radiation and scattering characteristics in this paper contributes a lot to develop the stealthy antenna system. The superstrate interleaves single- and dual-band frequency selective surfaces (FSSs), building a check-board up, which overcomes the restraint of
$180^{\circ}\pm 37^{\circ}$
reflection phase difference (RPD) required for −10 dB radar cross-section reduction (RCSR). The 82.39% RCSR bandwidth is consistent with the theoretical, ranging from 3.74 GHz to 8.98 GHz. Not only that, the simulation by ANSYS HFSS 18.0 shows a 3.25 dBi peak gain enhancement after the application of F-P cavity.
