Influence of Typhoon on Modern Smart Grid in China and Suggested Countermeasures

Typhoon is the main meteorological disaster that affects the safe and stable operation of modem smart grid. How to effectively deal with typhoon, how to effectively reduce the impact of typhoon, how to achieve rapid recovery after the disaster, has become an important research topic and key task of China's major coastal provincial power grid. The typical typhoons that have seriously affected the Chinese mainland in the past 20 years are statistically summarized, and their common problems and rules are summarized. The main influence of Typhoon on modem large power grids is analyzed. Furthermore, countermeasures are put forward from the aspects of intrinsic safety construction, efficient command system, prevention and control before disaster, effective response in disaster, emergency repair and recovery after disaster, which can be used for reference in the prevention and response of typhoon disaster by provincial power grid.
