Design and Characterization of Differential Rectifier on Flexible Substrate for WPT/IOT Applications

This paper addresses the design and the characterization of a differential rectifier on a flexible PET substrate. The rectifier was designed as part of a planar differential rectenna for supplying battery-less tag suited for volume asset tracking. The dielectric properties of the flexible substrate are measured by using special designed test structures. A maximum output dc voltage 236mV and an RF-to-dc conversion efficiency of 18% were measured on a 10kΩ load when the rectifier is powered with -15dBm input RF signal.
