Fuzzy Logic Triggered Charging Infrastructures for Electric Vehicles

The electrification of transport sector has reduced the greenhouse gas emissions in many parts of the world because chargeable vehicles are four to five times more energy effective than fuel powered vehicles and also they use electricity which comes from renewable energy resources. This study introduces three infrastructures for charging of EVs, these are Distributed, Fast charging and Battery swapping infrastructures. In this work Fuzzy logic technique is used to develop a set of rules in case of every infrastructure described earlier. These set of rules establishes a relation between input variables to yield the output. This fuzzy logic controller is then used in the Simulink model to view the total consumption and cost scenario in every infrastructure. By studying the effect of input variables on the cost curves, cost comparison curves are being plotted and methods of reducing the average cost on the consumer throughout the day are shown.
