A Wireless Communication Receiving Method Based on Blind Source Separation with Adaptive Mode Switching

Blind source separation (BSS) is developed to separate or recover the original source signals from the received mixed signals. The estimation of the unmixing matrix is the kernel step of BSS, which usually accounts for the majority of the whole BSS processing delay and makes BSS difficult to meet the real-time requirement of wireless communication system. In order to solve this problem, a receiving method base on BSS with adaptive mode switching is proposed in this paper and applied to wireless communication system. The unmixing matrix determination is adaptively switched between iteration mode and maintaining mode according to the power variation of the received signals, which effectively reduces the computation overhead of the unmixing matrix calculation. The proposed method can improve the real-time performance and practicability of BSS in wireless communication receiving system, and improve the bit error rate (BER) performance significantly.
