Research and Application of Communication Scheme for Distributed Wind Farms

A good, reliable, and efficient communication scheme is essential to the monitoring and management of the operation status of the wind farms. At present, China lacks the communication of 10kV and below voltage level distribution networks, and there is no precedent for communication between distributed wind farms and local power grid communication dispatch centers. This paper proposes a communication scheme suitable for distributed wind farms and local dispatching centers and is practically applied to Huaneng Dingbian Langergou Wind Farms, which is the first exemplary distributed wind farms in China. Through the actual operation of the Langergou Wind Farms in recent years, the reliability of the communication scheme has been verified, which provides a new idea for the communication of distributed wind farms.
