Iterative method for upward extrapolation of underwater electric potential induced by a warship

For the upward extrapolation of underwater electric potential, induced by a warship, the boundary condition is not complete, so the upward extrapolation can not be achieved by solving the Laplace equation. To realize the upward extrapolation, an iterative algorithm based on boundary integral method was used in this paper, which can use the downward extrapolation method as a medium and achieving upward extrapolation by a error adjustment mechanism. By using the expanded interpolated potential, the feasibility of this method was tested. And results show that the extrapolation errors are small and mainly concentrated in the edge area of target plane, which implies the accuracy of the iterative extrapolation algorithm is pretty high.
