Research on powertrain matching and control strategy of extended-range hybrid electric vehicle

Range extender as the key power source of extended-range hybrid electric vehicle, the working mode of the extender determines the working mode of the hybrid. Based on the principle of using electric energy to drive as much as possible and reducing the start-stop times and working time of the range extender, an optimal control algorithm for shortening the working time of the range extender is proposed, and the simulation analysis is carried out based on the couple-simulation platform of MATLAB/Simulink and GT-POWER. The results show that the control algorithm can reduce the working time of the range extender, and reduce the energy loss during charging and discharging. Thus, the fuel consumption and emissions of the range extender are reduced.
