Application of Cable Diagnosis in the Steel Industry

The IRC method was applied to evaluate water-tree degradation, a significant cause of failure of power cables in Japan. In addition, an RF diagnosis system that enables online power system diagnosis at a steel plant was tested, and a case study was presented that actually prevented a fault. A combination of these maintenance methods is proposed.
