Charge Behavior Measurement near the Interface Parallel to the Electric Field

It is important to understand the charge behavior in a multilayer insulation system in which the electric field direction is parallel to the interface because the interface may become an electrically weak point. The electric charge behavior measurement near the interface in the multilayer insulation system in which the electric field direction is parallel to the interface was carried out in this paper using a current integral charge method. The accumulated charge amount of the detection capacitor in the multilayer insulation system with the interface showed the trend to increase under a low field application compared to that of the single-layer without the interface. The interface in the multilayer insulation system acted as an electrically weak point under the experimental condition, the charge traveled to the counter electrode through the vicinity of the interface or accumulated near the interface. The current integral charge method may be a powerful tool to understand the charge behavior.
