The Roles of Green Technology with the aids of Financial Development in Reducing Carbon Dioxide Emission

Addressing global climate change requires integrated, innovative, and sustainable technologies efforts from all nations. This study aims to investigate the impacts of green technology, financial development, globalization and economic growth toward carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in 49 selected Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries by employing a panel regression approach. It also tests the existence of the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) among the countries. Even though the findings indicate globalization and economic growth deteriorate CO2 emission, the implementation of green technology and financial development could reduce CO2 emission. As for the EKC hypothesis, it is found to be invalid in BRI countries. The results of this research will contribute to policymakers by providing them better insights and understanding of the drivers of CO2 and how green technology and financial aids could improve air pollution in BRI countries.
