The Study of Power Router-Based DC Distribution Systems Operating Modes

The development of modern power generation industry is aimed at the application of artificial intelligence technologies for managing smart grids with distributed generation (DG) plants and energy storage units (ESU). Microgrids are an integral part of smart grids integrating power consumers, networks, ESU and DG plants. Building DC and AC microgrids with different voltage classes can provided using the power router. The article provides a description of a computer model of a DC power distribution network, built on the power router basis, ESU and DG plants. The results of studies obtained indicate that when connecting an additional powerful load in the DC network, when the main power is shut down, as well as in case of short circuit, voltage dips and fluctuations are observed. The use of ESU, DG plants and the power router allows to reduce or completely eliminate voltage dips and fluctuations.
