Application of Chaotic Time Series Phase Space Reconstruction on Arc Fault Detecting

The electrical equipment will burn arc brings security hidden danger and influence the stable operation of the power system, so it need to fast detection and protection. The paper offers an arc detection methods based on the characteristics of electric arc current and chaos theory. And reconstructs the chaotic time series phase space of arc current signal with the theory of phase space reconstruction and selects a time delay and embedding dimension; At last, it realizes the algorithm including the calculation of electric arc current plan phase correlation dimension, extraction of electric arc current characteristic features, verify the feasibility and effectiveness of this method with the matlab software.
