Development and Application of Ultrasonic Assisted Robot Drilling and Processing System

In the process of robot drilling titanium alloy workpieces, the cutting force received by the drill bit is large and the amplitude is large. During the drilling process, a large amount of heat and chip evacuation will be generated; in addition, the traditional ultrasonic assisted processing system is installed at the end of the robot arm and the load very heavy which leads to a reduction in the rigidity of the industrial six-axis robot, and then this affects the quality and efficiency of drilling. This thesis has developed an ultrasonic-assisted robot drilling and processing system. This system uses the principle of ultrasonic vibration cutting and is independently installed with the workpiece to form an ultrasonic vibration table. Which combined with the robot arm drilling feature of flexible processing, it effectively solves the engineering difficulties encountered in drilling titanium alloy workpieces. The experimental results show that this set of ultrasonic assisted drilling device can effectively reduce the cutting force between the drill bit and the workpiece, improve the smoothness of the inner wall of the hole, and maximize the flexible machining efficiency of the robot arm.
