A New Secondary Reactive Power Control Strategy of Microgrids Based on Droop Control

The influence of line impedance does not be considered in the traditional droop control strategy. When it is directly applied to the control for inverters, the reactive power cannot be accurately shared according to the rated capacity proportion. In this paper, a new secondary reactive power control strategy was proposed; the adaptive power distributor and PI control compensator were designed in the strategy. The adaptive power distributor was used to provide the reactive power reference, and the compensation was obtained by the PI control compensator. Therefore, the main idea of this strategy was to add compensation in the traditional droop control to make sure that the reactive power could dynamically track the reference to achieve accurate sharing. The simulation of the microgrid system verified the rationality and effectiveness of the strategy.
