Design of Magnetron Injection Gun for 140GHz, 1MW Gyrotron

A triode type MIG design for 140GHz, 1MW gyrotron operating at TE

mode is presented. The initial design inputs are obtained computationally with basic design equations. After that, the design simulation of MIG has been carried out by using the EGUN code. The optimized simulation results predict that a good quality of electron beam is generated with a low velocity spread 2.75% at the velocity ratio (α) = 1.32.
