Automated Development and Testing of ECUs in Automotive Industry with Jenkins

Mobility and cosmopolitanism are of the very essence of the Society. Therefore, vehicles are in demand and getting smarter. There are various automobile manufacturing companies known as OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) mainly designing and marketing cars. Tier 1 suppliers like Continental or Bosch are companies that supply essential parts or modules to OEMs. Time to Market the product becomes crucial when talking about increasing competition and its success rate. In such cases, not just the speed of final product reaching the market matters, but also the quality of the product that helps sustain in the market matters. This paper discusses the use of automation tool Jenkins in the automotive domain to speed up the production process of ECUs (Electronic Control Unit). Automated testing of the ECU helps organization to yield more functional electronic control units reducing the errors and shortening the time to market.
