SIW like Bull-Eye Antenna

In this paper, a novel low-profile, planar Bull-Eye antenna is proposed. Different from metal structure, the classical Bull-Eye ring structure is replaced by the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) like structure. The antenna is made up of several piled-up PCB board and fed by slot. Based on PCB, by adjusting layers of substrates, far-field gain at desired frequency could be improved and could also adjust the band flexibly. This SIW like bull-eye antenna has lower profile than the classical antenna and is easy to integrate with RF circuit design, useful for high-directional integrated design. From the simulation results, far-field gain at desired frequency is over 15dB. This design gives the adjustment ability, compared to the classical design.
