Research on Effects of Near-Fault Earthquake Ground Motion Characteristics on Seismic Response of the Steel-Concrete Plate Composite Beam Bridge with Transverse Supported Steel Beams

Forward-directivity, hanging wall effect and non-pulse ground motions in the near-fault region are selected respectively for research on effects of characteristics of near-fault ground motions on seismic response of the steel-concrete plate composite beam bridge with transverse supported steel beams. It is shown that the effects of forward-directivity on seismic response are the most significant and the influence of hanging wall effect on seismic response is similar to that of non-pulse near-fault ground motions. The more seismic demand important bridge columns have, the more effects on seismic response of important bridge columns characteristics of near-fault ground motions have.
